Jun Jin & UEE’s Duet

Several of Korea’s popular idols are gathering together and Shinhwa’s Jun Jin and After School’s UEE have joined the likes of Brown Eyed Girls, K. Will, Tei, and Kan Mi Youn to collaborate for a digital album in the “Age of Young Composers Project”.

Based on elements of meetings, love, and seperations (also known as Fate, Love,and Farewell) these young composers plan to release a digital album. This album will also contain a photo album and a music video into a single player of new digital content that is sure to impress you. This new transformation of digital technology is to become a new trend of business in the digital industry and this album will be its business model.

Not much has been revealed about the shroud of mystery surrounding this new technology but information of the music has been released. Jun Jin and UEE has tackled the first theme of “meetings” by performing a duet in a that guy/that girl situation. The song is titled “His and Her situation” and also features singer Suk Hee.

K.Will Will Debut as an Actor

Korean singer K. Will is set to debut as an actor in an upcoming 12 episode mini music drama called Soul Special. Each episode will be 5 minutes or so long, and will be released on various online portal sites like a viral mini series. It will also broadcast on KBS but will only be divided into 4 parts. It is said that although it’s not as high maintenance as an actual Korean drama, the production cost has already amounted to roughly hundred thousands of dollars.

If you’re not familiar with the name K. Will, don’t be alarmed because most people aren’t familiar with him despite being an awesome ballad singer. But if you recall, he performed a duet with one of the fastest rappers in the world, Outsider, this summer on a live stage at Music Core. The singer will star alongside Han Hyo Joo and Kim Dong Uk.

Han Hyo Joo’s Next Project is a Musical Drama

Actress Han Hyo Joo, who gained a lot of fame from the SBS drama “Glorious Heritage,” will make a comeback, being cast in a music drama called, “Soul.”

Her role in the music drama will be a singer/song-writer, who falls in love with a doctor named, YooGil (acted out by Kim Dong Wook). Other stars such as Lee Chae Young, K.Will, Bobby Kim, and Rumble Fish will also make appearances in the music drama, which is set to take place at JeJu Island.

Although this was not a movie, the production cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. It will be a total of 60 minutes, cut into 5 minutes each, totaling 12 episodes, and will be released through online portal sites. The entire 60 minutes of music drama will also broadcast over KBS, as well as a music video made up of 4 parts.

Park Ye Seul To Feature in Mighty Mouth’s New Track

Actress Han YeSeul will be featured for hiphop duo Mighty Mouth’s comeback title song.

It has been known on 3rd August that Han YeSeul will be singing for their comeback title song ‘Love Crash Course’.

Their company said, “We have yet another female top star for Mighty Mouth’s new album title song and she is Han YeSeul. Han YeSeul’s bright and sweet voice will go with Mighty Mouth’s rap for ‘Love Crash Course’ singing about different ways to love.”

Meanwhile, it is set for the duo to release their new album on 6th August. This album will have Deux’s Lee HyunDo doing the producing after 7 years. The album will also feature other great artistes like Baek Ji Young and K Will. And the MV to the title song will also featured 4Minute HyunA and After School UEE.

New Singer: Hwi

New singer Hwi has received a special invitation to this year’s Hallyu Music Festival.

After gaining much popularity singing for the theme song ‘I can’t have you’ for MBC weekend drama ‘Friend, our legend’, his popularity goes all the way to Japan and he has been invited to 2009 Hallyu Music Festival.

The festival is a joint event by Korea and Japan, and it sees the appearance of top stars – last year some of the stars who attended were WheeSung, Kim BumSoo, Paran etc.

And for this year, some of the stars who will be attending are Jo Sung Mo, T-Max, K Will and Hwi. Hwi was invited after the theme song ‘I can’t have you’ began to gain popularity amongst the Korean and Japanese views of the drama.

The festival will take place on 12th and 13th September .

Hwi also previously got into the spotlight after he did the cover of ‘Like Being Hit by a Bullet’ originally by Baek Ji Young.

Mighty Mouth is Making a Comeback

Hip Pop duo Mighty Mouth, famous for tracks like I Love You and Energy, have announced that they are scheduled to make a comeback in August.

The boys are currently working with ex-Deux member, gone producer Lee Hyun Do (co-produced Crown J’s “I’m Good”) on finishing up their album. Their fusion R&B/Pop song “Miss You” will be featuring the husky voiced ballad singer Baek Ji Young. Other famous names that will be featured on the album is K.Will, Enne and IU.

Mighty Mouth has yet to reveal anything about their title song, keeping fans on their toes waiting. However, Mighty Mouth has promised that a famous singer will be featured on the track.

A Final Duet For K.Will

‘Ballad sensation’ K.Will is planning to end his official activities by singing a duet with SNSD’s Tiffany.

On the 18th of July, K.Will will end his activities on MBC’s Music Core! live. On this day, he plans to sing “A Girl Meets Love” with SNSD’s Tiffany.

On K.Will’s mini album, Tiffany sang a duet with him called “A Girl Meets Love”, which set a record and became a hot topic. “A Girl Meets Love” is a song that shows how his heart was ‘bad’ after falling in love with someone like a young child.

Tiffany said, “I’m happy to have done a duet with K.Will, who sings really well” and revealed, “I will work hard to make it a spectacular performance.” K.Will expressed himself saying, “I was very happy to work with SNSD’s Tiffany, whom I’ve always liked. I will sing by representing SNSD fans.”

Recently, for the past 7 months, K.Will has caused a ballad storm with 3 hit songs, “Love 119″, “Dropping The Tears”, and “1 Drop in 1 Second”. K.Will is ending his activities with this performance, but plans to have a comeback with a full album in the fall.

Best Song To Listen To on a Rainy Day

Music site Monkey3 (www.monkey3.co.kr) did a survey recently on males and females in their twenties on ‘The song you wish to listen on a rainy day’.

And SG Wannabe’s ‘Watercolours of a rainy day’ got #1 on the survey with 45% of the votes. This is a remake of songs sung by late 80s singers Kim HyunSik, Kwon InHa and Kang InWon.

#2 goes to RumbleFish’s ‘Rain and You’, the song was used for movie ‘Radio Show’. And Epik High and YounHa’s collaboration ‘Umbrella’ was voted #3, a great song with the harmony of YounHa’s sensational voice and Epik High’s rap.

2009’s Best Karaoke Songs

What is the most sung Kpop songs for the 1st half of 2009?

Karaoke system companies KumYoung and feelTNG did a tabulation on their karaoke systems fro 1st January till 15th June and had came up with a 50 songs chart for the most sung songs.

They conducted the tabulations leaving out the age groups of the elderlys and children on 30 million norebang (singing room, karaoke room).

And the most sung song is Lee Eun Mi’s ‘I Had A Lover’, and then So Nyeo Shi Dae’s Gee’ at #2 and Baek Ji Young ‘Like Being Hit’ is #3.

And on the chart of favourite songs to sing, Big Bang ‘Lies’ is at #1, ‘Sunset Glow’ at #6, ‘Haru Haru’ at #13, members DaeSung ‘Look at me, Gwisoon’ is at #21, and SeungRi’s ‘Strong Baby’ is at #31. And ‘Lollipop’ the CM song collaboration between Big Bang and 2NE1 is at #46.

Davichi has also 3 songs up on the chart with ‘8282′ at #4, ‘Made an accident’ #10 and ‘Love even thought I hate you’ at #36.

So Nyeo Shi Dae’s ‘Gee’ is also at #3, member TaeYeon’s OST songs ‘Can You Hear’ and ‘If’ is at #14 and #49 respectively.

Other than that, singer K Will’s ‘Tears at falling is at #11′, ‘Love 119′ featuring MC Mong is at #50.
