It has been revealed that IU will take part in the OST (Original Soundtrack) for the historical drama Queen Seon Duk. She will be singing a song called, “Araro”, which will be the drama’s ending title song.
The music director of Queen Seon Duk recommended IU to participate in the OST because of her clear tone and her lyrical sensibility. This will be IU’s first sageuk (historical drama) OST, so she took time to carefully understand and analyze the lyrics to the song before recording.
IU commented, “I’m honored to take part in the OST”, “Because this drama is receiving a lot of the nation’s love, I worked harder on the recording to help support the drama”, “I hope you will love the OST as much as the drama”.
In Korean, the Ara, in “Araro” stands for the ocean, which the lyrics metaphors Seon Duk’s journey to become the queen of Silla.
Queen Seon Duk is one of my favorite drama that I am currently watching. I will love IU I will definitely love the OST song as much as I like the drama.
IU has been chosen as a host for a new music program.
IU (Lee Ji Eun) will become the first-ever host for GomTV’s new program called Gom Music Chart, a weekly show, where netizens get to vote for their favourite song on the charts. IU might still be relatively in terms of age (16 years old), but she has been through lots of training and should be able to handle her new hosting job with her bubbly, straightforward image.
IU expressed, “This will be my first time hosting a show by myself. I feel that I have a big responsibility. I will work really hard to make it a good show.”

FT Island came in 1st position in the special segment of the radio show, Choi Hwajung’s Power Time “Summer Vacation! Idol Special” held last week as the best idol star, defeating SHINee, 2PM, 4Minute, IU, Outsider and other top idol stars.
During the radio show, FT Island members shared many interesting topics with the listeners and also performed their title song “Barae” and debut song “Lovesick” live.
Upon learning the good news, FT Island expressed that they’re very happy and it was good that everyone enjoyed listening to the programme. If given another chance, they would want to go on the radio show again. They also thanked the fans who left messages for them.

Hip Pop duo Mighty Mouth, famous for tracks like I Love You and Energy, have announced that they are scheduled to make a comeback in August.
The boys are currently working with ex-Deux member, gone producer Lee Hyun Do (co-produced Crown J’s “I’m Good”) on finishing up their album. Their fusion R&B/Pop song “Miss You” will be featuring the husky voiced ballad singer Baek Ji Young. Other famous names that will be featured on the album is K.Will, Enne and IU.
Mighty Mouth has yet to reveal anything about their title song, keeping fans on their toes waiting. However, Mighty Mouth has promised that a famous singer will be featured on the track.
IU who has been labeled the young diva, held her 1st-ever fan signing event last Sunday, 5th July at the Hot Tracks outlet inside Kyobo Book Centre, Seoul.
The fan signing which lasted for over a hour saw IU signed 150 albums for fans who bought the album at the store on the same day. Besides the lucky 150, over 100 fans also crowded the store to get a glimpse of IU as well. The demographics of her fans included teens below 20, adults in their 20s and even middle-aged guys aged 30 – 40 year old. There was also an army boy who sacrified his valuable booking out time to attend IU’s fan signing event. Besides getting their album autographed, all 150 fans got a handshake with IU while some brave souls got to take a photo with her.
Loen Entertainment said, “We have been receiving lots of requests to organize an official event since IU begun her promotions. So we decided to organize this to thank the fans for their support.” IU herself expressed, “I was kind of nervous but yet anticipating it because it helped in bringing the distance between me and my fans closer.”

‘The M’ lead by MC Kim Hyungjoon(SS501)-Sunny(SNSD)’s met A’ST1 who were the stars for the 16th of ‘Mini Mini M’, while on the 17th episode, Chungrim and IU turned out to be the stars. Others like 2PM, V.O.S, Lee Eunmi, Chaeyun, After School, Evan, Zi.a, Oh Jonghyuk, UPT, Defcon, Superkid, Chungrim, A’ST1, Answer, Han Kyungil, Jung Youngjoo, Happy Face, Mate, 2%, and etc showed a great performance on the show.
Meanwhile, the one that was recorded on the 27th which was 16th episode and 17th episode which was on May 29th will both be aired on a Friday night of June 5th on SkyEn at 6:00 p.m.

Highschooler singer IU (Lee Ji Eun) continues to advance her singing career.
She previously released her 1st album ‘Growing’ last April and is currently promoting her title song ‘Boo’. And in just 3 weeks, her song went up to the #1 contendants for SBS Inkigayo, and her names also went up twice on Take 7 on the show together with other names like SG Wannabe and YounHa.
Not only that, the song is doing very well on KBS Music Bank K CHart, on Mnet M!Countdown chart, and on various online music charts.
IU is known for her cute and great live performances, and had gathered many unnie and oppa fans.
With that, she had received love calls to perform at university fesitvals. Even though she is still young and schooling in highschool, she has continued to gain popularity and love from music fans.
