‘Hot Issue Five Girl!’ These girls have finally arrived!
Even though there are a lot of girl groups right now, it’s okay; there is a lot of women power nowadays. In order to win the hearts of many boys, these girls are competing with each other and making the summer hotter than it already is.
Especially groups like Girls’ Generation, Brown Eyed Girls, Davichi, Seeya, and even 2NE1, who came in suddenly, are popular. 4minute debuted as a “hot issue” and they joined in to stir things up.
The “new star” 4minute has been included with existing groups. With their “candy funky” concept, they have an ambition to dominate the stage with a sudden flash.
★ Just by looking at them, you know they’re going to be a hit?
It has only been ten days since the “newbie” 4minute has debuted. Leader Jihyun, vocalist Gayoon, Jiyoon, Sohyun, and rapper Hyunah– since their debut, these five talented girls have exploded the stage with their skills. They have caught the attention of many boy fans.
The five members of 4minute were prepared to be singers since they were younger. By exhibiting their abilities on stage, we can expect many different idol groups to be born in the future.
“We didn’t know that we’d be like common celebrities. We were happy when we were on stage, and we loved it when we were dancing. We struggled to practice for twenty or more hours every day. Even now, we practice for almost twelve hours a day and there is never anyone who wants to quit during the middle. We are the “crazy” five girls who only want to sing.”
The truth is that before this group even debuted, their abilities and talents were being compared with those of the Wonder Girls because Hyunah was included; consequently, 4minute received a lot of attention.
The difference between 4minute and the rest of female groups in Korea is that all members of 4minute were born in the 1990’s (1990-2009).
Because of their young ages and conspicuous appearances, they became popular. People were expecting a lot, and they got what they wanted.
There were so many people who were curious about whether or not 4minute would do well so 4minute tried even harder to change antis into fans. With that motive in mind, they practiced very hard.
“Honestly, until the final members were announced, we didn’t know who would make it. There were many candidates for the group and in order to survive the tests, we had to practice extremely hard. If we had to go through a process like that again but with different situations, we would probably be able to adjust to it. We cherished any time we had to sleep. The result of us five being put together into one group might have been fate.”
★ “Being compared with 2NE1? That’s an honor.”
2NE1 appeared with a sudden blow when they debuted and they caught the public eye. 4minute also entered in the same manner and they are also getting the same attention. Because of this, there is no choice but for these two groups to be compared by both antis and fans.
“We don’t know how to react. We only debuted about a week ago but we are being compared with a sunbae group.
When we practiced, we listened to their songs and learned a lot of things while watching them dancing. This is very interesting and we are grateful. Being compared with 2NE1 as if we are on the same level is an honor.”
Since the beginning, SES – Finkl, HOT – Sechs Kies, DBSK – SS501, WG – SNSD have been compared and each group became popular. These groups were in their 10’s, 20’s, and 30’s, but they continue to be in our memories forever.
When we look at 4-member group 2NE1 and 5-member group 4minute, we don’t know what kind of memories we will have later on and we don’t know if they were prepared to be stars.
“Being compared with popular sunbaes who we can learn from makes us happy. We also want many things too. Even if you like 2NE1, we’d like it if you didn’t hate us just because of that. We will try our best to show a cool appearance as hoobaes, so we’d appreciate it if you could watch over us nicely.”
★ “Our weapon is giving a hot performance on stage.”
Their debut hit “Hot Issue” is great but if you ask 4minute about their popularity, they are still not sure. These girls still have a long way to go, and if you talk to them about their popularity, they merely answer modestly.
“The number of visitors at our mini-homepage is increasing but we’re not sure if we are supposed to think that our popularity is increasing or not. The truth is that we are still lacking many things and because of that, we are even more dedicated.”
4minute has more than five different things on their schedule every day. Having even one meal in a day is difficult, but they still hope that they will have full schedules in the future. They have a strong desire to be on stage, and they are looking for a way to win against other girl group competitors.
From now on, their performances on KBS Music Bank, MBC, SBS Inkigayo, and other music programs will be dedicated to revealing their five colors and to increasing their popularity.
“We were all born in the 1990’s (1990-2009). It means that our healths are very strong. We form a teenager group with a bright appearance. Through our performances on stage, we will try our best to fulfill fans’ expectations because we are ‘4~ minute!’”
