Rapper Crown J will perform in New York for two straight days, starting on July 2nd. The rapper’s concert was held for the Korean community in New York, before launching his American career.

Crown J

Originally Crown J had planned only one concert on July 2nd, but was contacted by a Manhattan club to hold another one. He will perform at Irvin Plaza in Manhattan first, and then continue on at the club Circle the following day. Included in the concert repertoire is his new release “I’m Good,” which he worked on together with singer/producer Lee Hyun-do. “I’m Good” contains hopeful messages typical of southern hip hop and its Korean version will be produced separately for his Korean fans and the Korea-American communities.

Crown J’s latest album will be released on July 10th after which he’ll go on a concert tour with stops at Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Atlanta. He wrapped up his stint in Korea earlier this year to return to his hometown Atlanta, where he founded an independent album label “Fly Boy Entertainment.”

Here comes the official explanation from the We Got Married PDs on their swift decision to boot out all the season 4 couples. “Marriage isn’t dating!” After an emergency meeting this past weekend, the PDs came to the conclusion that the existing 4 couples of Jung Hyung Don – Tae Yeon, Kangin – Lee Yoon Ji, JunJin – Lee Si Young and Shin Sung Rok – Kim Shin Young weren’t able to give an accurate portrayal of a realistic married life. Their knee-jerk reaction to the falling ratings will see all 4 couples leaving the show on 3rd May together.

The production team also expressed their new concept for the 2 new incoming couples, “The new couples will be able to give an accurate portrayal of actual married life. In other words, although the current 4 couples are having a make-believe marriage, they aren’t able to give a sense of realism at all. It feels more like they are dating and getting to know each other rather than living as a married couple even if its make-believe.”

We Got Married had started out as a program where celebrities get together to live out a make-believe marriage. But couples that have recently got on the show seems to be more concerned with portraying an image or putting on a show rather than showing what married couples do in real life. Although there are the usual missions, there are no more squabbling couples like Crown J – Seo In Young, Jung Hyung Don – Saori.

The 2 couples mentioned would get mad at each other at the simplest of things and sometimes even frustrate watching viewers, but yet they give the accurate portrayal of a real-life couple. Some feel that the recent couples on the show seemed to be more concerned about how their image would come out on the show rather than letting their real personalities show out. This ultimately makes it very unrealistic and alienating viewers in the process. But ask yourself one question, my dear PDs, who decided on making Kangin – Lee Yoon Ji a poor college couple from the start?

And thus We Got Married has decided to go back to the show’s original objective. Existing couples will not be given any farewell misson and just exit the show directly. The reason given was couples who are divorced don’t exactly go on a farewell vacation.

In summary, they are just pushing all the blame to the couples instead of blaming themselves for changing this and that. 1 of the new couples have already been announced today and they are Kim Young Jun of SG Wannabe and actress Hwang Jung Eum. They are a real-life couple who have been dating for 3 years and it remains to be seen whether they can keep the show afloat because this is probably the last throw of the dice. Jessica of Girls’ Generation and G-Dragon of Big Bang have been suggested as shown here but it’s just a stupid RUMOR since they aren’t dating in real life.

It was revealed 2 days ago that Crown J and Seo In Young will be the next couple to depart MBC Sunday Sunday Night We Got Married. The PDs expressed, “Seo In Young and Crown J couple will film until the end of December and then depart completely. Their segments will finish airing by January.”

Seo Inyoung & Crown J

Seo In Young management, Star Empire confirmed the news, “Seo In Young was only supposed to film until November. But it was specially extended until December. After her filming for We Got Married ends in December, she will going to America for a vacation in January before returning home.”

Her management added, “Seo In Young hasn’t been in good health since her Jewelry promotion and then she started her solo album promotion. It was about time that she got a break”. As expected of ‘We Got Married’ producers “During that time, the amount of worry about Seo Inyoung’s health wasn’t small”. Also “We hope she gets to have a nice break this time around”. The PDs of We Got Married expressed, “We were worried somewhat about her (In Young) health during this while and we hope she gets a nice break this time around.”

Seo In Young and Crown J departure will mean that the “purge” of all the pioneer couples have been completed. Jung Hyun Don – Saori, Lee Hwi Jae – Jo Yeo Jeong (always never mentioned, but I WILL), Andy – Solbi, Alex – Shin Ae (twice) all left the show earlier. Kim Hyun Joong – Hwang Bo will make their final appearance this Sunday (although they completed filming in November).

With only 2 couples (Marco – Son Dambi, Hwanhee – Hwayobi) remaining on the show soon, the PDs are now actively scouting for new members to take their place. They expressed, “At the beginning of the new year (2009), 2 new experimental couples will be added. At least one of the couple will be accepted onto the show permenently if they create some interest among viewers.”

They ended by saying, “The couples from season one were on the show for 6 to 8 months and the novelty factor might have disappeared due to the length. We are considering changing it to just 3 months instead. While they are a couple, if they become unsure or are unable to hit their peak (lack of chemistry), we will make it (scripted?) in a way that they can make the decisive changes.”

-> Man We Got Married has been disappointing the past few months. I was sooo sad when Anbi left. They were the reason why I watched the show in the first place. Then Alae left. Now Hyunbo and the Witch & Ant. It’s so annoying. I’m curious who the new couples will be but I hope it’ll be better than Marbi and Hwaobi. Otherwise Ima quit watching all together. Family Outing has been quite hilarious.
