SS501 Kim HyungJoon together with JunJin and Son HoYoung have been casted for hallyu drama ‘Super Star’. There will be about 30 hallyu star participating for this drama, set to bring the hallyu closer to fans in Asia, like Bae SeulGi, Baby VOX Shim EunJin, Ahn JaeMo, Lee TaeSeong and Seo JiYeong etc.
There will be 10 movie directors involved in this project, and will consists of 10 episodes. The first episode will be ‘The Grape Prince covered in needles’ directed by Lee CheolHa and features Ahn JaeMo, Shim EunJin, Cha HwaYeon etc.
It is said that this project will give opportunities to singers to take part in dramas, breaking the stereotype that singers cannot act, and also riding on the hallyu wave.
‘Super Star’ will be aired in Thailand and also other parts of Southeast Asia. It will be aired later part of this year.
Representative of new girlgroups HyunA of 4Minute and UEE of After School have come together for the ’showdown of charms’.
They will be working together filming for the new MV off Mighty Mouth’s comeback album. They have both agreed to help out for the MV out of friendship amidst their busy schedule.
It is known that HyunA has taken time out of working on 4Minute’s album to do the filming. While UEE is also currently handling many promotional activities but has still taken time out to help.
The 2 are the next artistes to be known to be featured for Mighty Mouth’s comeback album after Baek Ji Young.
Mighty Mouth will release their new album coming August.
On July 7th, 2009, Michael Jackson’s Funeral was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Those who were forntunate enough to get a ticket saw amazing performances from Mariah Carey, Trey Lorenz, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, & Jermaine Jackson in tribute to the King of Pop. They also heard the heart warming speeches of Brooke Shields, Rev. Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King III, Berry Gordy, Jermaine & Marlon Jackson, Queen Latifah, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, & Smokie Robinson. And let’s not forget Paris Jackson’s words that made the billions that tuned in for the memorial break down and cry. (For those who didn’t cry, DO YOU HAVE A HEART?!)
Rest in Peace Michael, you will be remembered for your brilliance.
As I have posted before, Michael Jackson influenced many artists including the KPopers. Bi (Rain) was one of them. It was however unfortunate for him as he learned the King of Pop died on his birthday, June 25th. Michael inspired many to be all they can be and here are their tributes from over the years:

A giant Michael Jackson Dangerous Dance Battle on Love Letter (Lee Min Woo of Shinhwa, Jang Woo Hyuk of H.O.T, Bae Seul Ki, Kim Jong Min of Koyote, & Chung Myun Hoon of NRG)
Bae Seul Gi who has wrapped up her Tiresome promotion was revealed to be in the midst of a relationship with a guy of the same age, and currently an exchange student.
The local media reported that Bae Seul Gi is currently seeing someone who is a non-celebrity and the couple have been spotted on a date at an amusement park. With regards to this, Seul Gi’s management dismissed the rumors, “The said person is just a good friend of Seul Gi who often hangs out with her. Everyone in the company knows him and he often comes to the tv station and her performance locations. They also did not go out together as it’s always with a group of colleagues in the company.”
Bae Seul Gi is now working hard on her acting and taking english lessons for her assassin movie role in Finale which is scheduled for release in 2010.
News came late that singer Bae Seul Gi had collapsed from overwork and was sent to the hospital after one of her recent performances.
She was performing on the programme at an air force academy in ChungCheongBook Do, and after the performance she had collapsed and was sent to the hospital.
Her company said on the 10th, “She had got fatigue from the heavy schedule she was following recently. She had recovered after some rest and she was back in school today again.”
Bae Seul Gi released a minihalbum after 1 year and 6 months last April and has been promoting the song ‘Tiresome’ on various programmes off her minialbum.
Korean Artistes set to performance with each other at a Charity Concert.
The Charity concert first appeared last year in October on KBS1 TV. The event is said to be extended the second time round this year for another 2 hours for this special event.
The concert includes artistes such as Shinee, 2PM, 2AM, Davichi, Jo Sung Mo, Chae Yeon, Bae Seul Gi, After School etc. as well as Tei, Drunken Tiger and other artistes to be scheduled.
The concert will be held at a South Korean university at 5pm on June 20th 2009. All funds raised by the event will be given to a charity.
